There is no limit to the type of internship placement that you can have in Washington, D.C.  Our team supports you in searching for your own dream internship, and shares new postings with our student community every two weeks.  Here are some of our key placement partners and sites that have hosted, and paid, FIU students in the recent past.  All opportunities listed here are paid or stipend-bearing.

  • U.S. House of Representatives

    Members of Congress from South Florida and across the country host FIU interns to handle constituent inquiries, policy research, and press relations. Students also access Congressional internships through CBCFCHCI, CHLIAPAICS, Victory Institute.
  • Partnership for Public Service

    The Public Service Internship Program provides an opportunity for students to make the federal government more efficient, from the vantage point of this nonprofit, nonpartisan organization.
  • U.S. Global Leadership Coalition

    USGLC interns advocate for America’s diplomacy and development programs in the areas of Government Relations, Outreach, Policy, and Communications.
  • Government Accountability Office

    GAO is an legislative-branch federal agency oversees the spending of the federal budget and ensures that executive branch programs are operating effectively.
  • The Heritage Foundation

    The mission of Heritage's Young Leaders Program is to formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.
  • MITRE

    MITRE's interns solve problems for a safer world through federally funded R&D centers and public-private partnerships.
  • HACU (National Internship Program)

    The HACU National Internship Program places students in paid internships with federal government agencies.
  • Brookings

    Brookings Institution interns work on a vareity of projects at one of the most well-known research think tanks in DC.
  • Kennedy Center

    The Kennedy Center Internship Program is a holistic and rigorous professional development program designed to elevate the next generation of leaders in the arts, cultural, and non-profit fields.
  • Center for American Progress

    The Center for American Progress' goal is to inspire, train, and educate the next generation of progressive Americans. 
  • National Geographic

    Interns at National Geographic Society work in a variety of units and roles within this global media and environmental organization. (Summer only).
  • Atlantic Council

    The Atlantic Council's mission is “shaping the global future together” by taking on global, generational challenges.
