Bio

Throughout her collegiate career, Marissa has been an active member of the student body within FIU. She started off as a Global Learning Medallion and Peace Corps Prep student, and rapidly started work on her Capstone project as an intern in the Office of University Sustainability; helping to further develop the “Sustainability Network” and make the campus more environmentally conscious as a whole. From August 2020 to May 2021, she helped students become informed and excited about joining the Peace Corps while working as a Peace Corps Campus Ambassador, as one of her dreams is to join the Peace Corps in the coming years. She has a passion for sustainable agriculture, and showed this by conducting agricultural research on a farm in the Redlands, and is working on obtaining her certificate in Agroecology. She recently became an inducted Hamilton Scholar with FIU in DC and will soon be joining the Honors College.
