Bio

Kenrick Edward Chiocca, a senior at Florida International University (FIU), is serving as a 2024 fall legislative intern with a U.S. Representative from Florida. A proud fourth-generation Floridian, Kenrick’s roots run deep in South Florida, where his family, originally from Italy, established themselves in Miami as accountants, educators, and lawyers. This background instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to his community.

Balancing his academic pursuits with full-time work at a medical malpractice defense law firm, Kenrick has developed a keen focus on congressional politics. He is particularly dedicated to advancing Florida’s interests through sustainable environmental policies and economic development initiatives. His commitment to boosting job creation is paired with a proactive approach to ensuring that Florida and other coastal communities remain resilient against extreme weather events like flooding and hurricanes.

Kenrick’s experience with bipartisan efforts on Everglades restoration highlights his belief in pragmatic policy solutions that transcend political differences. At FIU, he has been actively involved in international affairs, including hosting state dignitaries and welcoming refugees impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. His legislative duties extend to supporting the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the U.S. and China.

Eager to continue serving the people of Florida, Kenrick is passionate about contributing to meaningful policy development through his work in politics and international relations.
