Nicolas, a double major in Economics and Political Science, brings a strong commitment to public service, higher education, and leadership to the Hamilton Scholars program. Drawn to the program’s unique focus on advocacy, he is eager to explore how policy takes shape behind the scenes and to represent FIU’s priorities in the nation’s capital. For Nicolas, this experience is both a chance to grow professionally and a way to amplify FIU’s impact on a national stage.
Through his time in Washington, DC, Nicolas hopes to deepen his understanding of the policymaking process—particularly the role of lobbying—while engaging with diverse voices and perspectives. Stepping outside of Miami, he looks forward to building new networks, broadening his worldview, and strengthening the skills that will guide his future career in research and policy.
