Bio
Angelo Gomez is a senior at Florida International University and part of the Honors College, double majoring in Journalism and Political Science. In the upcoming Spring 2022 semester, Angelo will be interning at the Washington D.C. Bureau for the South Florida Media Network, in partnership with FIU’S Department of Communication and the NBCU Academy.
Angelo has written for the South Florida Media Network since he began his undergraduate studies during the Fall 2019 semester. He has had 19 articles and counting published during the past three years, including stories for the South Florida Media Network, the Miami Herald, the Miami New Times, Miami Today, and Miami Times. Angelo has a passion for writing and covering stories on important issues that affect underserved communities. He believes that journalism is crucial to the well-functioning of a democracy and the importance of covering topics crucial for the public’s knowledge.
Upon graduation, Angelo will attend law school and would like to practice immigration law or enter public service.
